Description Gladys Black letter to Vernon M. Kleen was regarding changes in habitat and birds sighted at Red Rock Refuge during 1968-1970, April 7, 1971. Black noted the spectacular change in the number of migratory species since Lake Red Rock was filled in 1969. She discussed various bird sightings at the lake, including that of a Great Blue Heron rookery and vulture roosts. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of winter 1970-1971.
