Grove. | Elimination of similar species: The short body, longer neck, and bright orange bill color eliminates all species of loons. Viewing conditions were excellent with sun behind us and partly cloudy skies. Estimated viewing distance was 200 meters. I used a Kowa 20-60x spotting scope. |
