Description Field notes contributed by Douglas C. Harr, Larchwood, Iowa, May 31, 1984, covered sightings of ten species in the spring. A Prairie Falcon near Lester, Lyon County, was documented. He reported that a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was killed by a cat near Milford, Iowa. There were large populations of finches in the spring. He also saw the first White-crowned Sparrow in 12 years at his feeder. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of spring 1984.
