| Description |
June-July Iowa observations, Peter C. Petersen, 1984, were made with four other observers. Twenty-one species were listed with dates, number, locations, and comments. Birds with young or acting territorial were a Brown Creeper on Huron Island, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Scarlet Tanagers near Elkader, a Northern Mockingbird at Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve, and Orchard Orioles at Nye Cemetery. More details about birds at Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve are provided in a separate report. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984. |
