The documentation form by Stephen J. Dinsmore is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. Other observers include Maridel Jackson. | Elimination of similar species: The only species this bird could have been confused with was Horned Grebe. The combination of head shape, smaller, thinner bill, darker foreneck and cheek, and white 'crescent' mark on cheek eliminated Horned Grebe in basic plumage. | The original documentation form event lasted from 09:14:00/10:05:00. |

Viewing Conditions: Viewing conditions were excellent with mostly cloudy skies. Estimated viewing distance was 100-150m. I used a 20-60x spotting scope. |
