Habitat Oxbow lake - bordered by second-growth poplar stands, it was seen in the open portion of the lake, where the water depth was about 5 to 10 feet.

Event Remarks Viewing Conditions: Distance: 160 yards estimated by sight Optical equipment: Bushnell Spacemaster Scopes, 20x & zoom 60x Light: Sun was in back of us and shone directly on the bird. Viewing conditions excellent.
