Dinsmore, Kay Niyo, and many other observers. | Elimination of similar species: The combination of size, dark gray mantle, yellow legs and bill pattern eliminates other gulls, especially Great Black-backed, California, and Slaty-backed. | The original documentation form event lasted from 14:05:00/16:55:00 on December 26, 1997 and 13:40:00/16:05:00 on December 30, 1997. |

Viewing Conditions: Viewing conditions were excellent with overcast skies. Estimated viewing distance was <100m. I used 10x42 binoculars and a 20-60x spotting scope. |
