Event Remarks Viewing Conditions: see notes. [...] West side of Tomahawk Marsh I was on N side bird on SW side. [...] I watched the bird for about 15 min. from what I would estimate to be 1/3 of mile away through my Bushnell 9 to 30 power 40 mm zoom Spotting scope. Light was not optimal overcast and gray. I was able to discern earlier when in flight using a Bushnell Falcon 7x35 357 ft at 1000 yds. Coated optics [...] I was able to approach to within 20-30 ft (est.) of the lodge that had the bird sitting on it.
