Iowa Birdline update for October 1, 1990. Highlights of the update include the sighting of a Yellow Rail and the continued presence of two Scissor-tailed Flycatchers. Also of note was the large number of passerine migrants entering the state, including Blue Jays, Brown Creepers, Brown Thrashers, Indigo Buntings, and Yellow-rumped Warblers. Other interesting observations included early Lapland Longspurs and Red-breasted Mergansers as well as a sighting of an estimated 2400 Chimney Swifts.

Iowa Birdline update for October 25, 1994 . Highlights of the update include details on the continuation of the fall migration with Hawks and shorebirds on the move, including sightings of a Peregrine Falcon, an immature Cooper's Hawk, Long-billed Dowitchers, and White-rumped Sandpipers. Other observations of note include a late Philadelphia Vireo, a late Yellow-rumped Warbler, and a first winter Laughing Gull.
