Description Field notes for Des Moines, Iowa are contributed by Joe Kennedy in a letter to Peter C. Peterson. He reports that most birds are scarce and that this appears to be occurring each year in Des Moines as more species are affected. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of summer, 1965.
