Habitat Standing along shore of lake in shallow water near a muskrat den. Lake shore environment with some reeds and cattails along shore plus other vegetation growing in shallow water where bird was observed.

Occurrence Remarks The documentation form by Larry D. Brown is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. Other observers include his wife and two other birders. | Elimination of similar species: Approximately 10-15 feet to the west of the Snowy stood an American Egret which was identified by its yellow bill and much larger size. By comparing the field marks and size of both, they could both be identified. | The original documentation form event lasted from 18:00:00/18:15:00.

Event Remarks Viewing Conditions: Distance: Approximately 100 yards, based on eye judgement. Optical equipment: Bushnell, 7X35 binoculars. Light: Bright afternoon sunlight, viewed bird from a northern to southern angle perpendicular to the sunlight.
