Occurrence Remarks |
The documentation form by Barbara L. Wilson is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. | Elimination of similar species: Resembles the fall Mourning Warbler plumage. In fact, I must say this is either a female Connecticut Warbler in Spring plumage or a Mourning that retains fall plumage. I did not see if the eye ring is broken or not, nor the extent to which the under tail coverts cover the tail feathers. | The original documentation form event lasted from approximately 09:00:00/09:01:30. |

Viewing Conditions: I saw the bird for a minute or minute + a half about 9:00 am in heavy woods. Bird SSW of me. I had a clear view of the tree it was in. I couldn't use the view efficiently, though. At first glance I thought it a Nashville. Then I couldn't remember how to tell a Female Mourning from a Connecticut. Finally I looked for breaks in the eye ring, but could never be sure if there were any or not. I didn't see the face well enough again after I was looking for that. Notes written 1/2 hour later, before consulting a book. 30' away or so, 8x binoculars |
