Occurrence Remarks |
The documentation form by Thomas J. Staudt is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. | Elimination of similar species: After recording the above notes I refered [sic] to Peterson's A Field Guide to the Birds East of the Rockies. He indicated that different ages of Grasshopper and Henslow's Sparrows could be mistaken for each other. The lack of prominate [sic] streaking on the breast and flanks on this bird may indicate an adult Grasshopper. However, the streaked olive-greenish head with dark marks in the auricular and the chestnut wing color eliminate the Grasshopper and any other sparrow. | The original documentation form event lasted from 14:30:00/14:40:00. |

Viewing Conditions: Viewing conditions very good. A full sunny afternoon with the sun behind and slightly to my left (west). I was looking almost straight north. The bird was about 15 feet away. I was using 7x Bushnell binoculars. |
