Nestings of Least Terns and Piping Plovers at the IPL ponds were described in detail with seven other observers, and many herons were seen near the Missouri River in Fremont County. Counts of House Sparrows were shown to decrease as livestock operations decreased, 1978-1984. Included with the report are two letters from Carl J. Bendorf to Bruce Peterjohn. The letter dated December 15, 1986, explains the presence of typesetting marks on the included fall report manuscript and notes the interesting fall season in Iowa.
