There is a noticeable transition from the thin neck to the larger head. In this bird, there was no noticeable widening from the neck to the head. Additionally, Double-crested has a proportionally much smaller and weaker bill. Double-crested's forehead slopes more evenly into the bill. While these differences may be difficult to see in single birds without comparative experience, in direct comparison they are significant. Additionally, the orange facial skin combines with the gular pouch to accentuate the overall orange color of the face. Other extralimital black cormorants can be ruled out on size alone, additionally, most have thinner necks and smaller bills than even Double-crested. | The original documentation form event lasted from 11:00:00/11:02:00.

It was an adult Kumlien's Iceland Gull because a Thayer's Gull has much more blackish coloration at the primary tips and more dark coloration at the primary tips than the Kumlien's which has grayish markings on the primary tips and less dark-colored markings at the primary tips overall. Also, a Kumlien's Iceland Gull shows the almost white wing tips like we saw with a little grayish markings on some primary tips. | The original documentation form event lasted from approximately 15:00:00/16:15:00.

A juvenile Mew gull is much darker, has a thin bill, and light grayish legs. [...] The bird is not any larger than some of the ring-bills--some of the ring-bills are smaller. The larger ring-bills are almost as big as this bird, and it is distinctly smaller than a number of Herring Gulls in the same field. The bill is much smaller and thinner; the head is small.
