I was struck by the neat appearance and greater activity of these particular birds and by the fact that they were not associating with the flock of house sparrows near the bird feeders. "It really stood out." [...] 1. Using Robbins + Peterson books confirming Herring. Great Black-Backed and Lesser Black Gull we eliminated by size to 24"-26". 2.
