We also saw, but not at same time, a larger, slightly lighter gull without tail band that we identified as a first year Glaucous Gull. It was consistently larger than Herring and heavier bodied. Ring-billed is smaller with a dark ring on bill of adult. Although a few Herrings have somewhat bright pink legs, most are a dull pink.
