Stewart suggests the best way to revise the check list to include the most up-to-date bird ranges is a survey of bird populations completed by members of the IOU. Included with the letter are instructions to be used in making out the frequency report and an example of a 'Report of occurrence frequency and breeding status of birds of Iowa' form completed by Stewart.
