Highlights of the update include early winter sightings of an immature Pinyon Jay and a Clark's Nutcracker. Interesting observations from the Christmas Bird Count were sightings of a gray phase Gyrfalcon and a Pine Grosbeak. Also of note were the late winter sightings of Great Gray Owls, a Ferruginous Hawk, and a Townsend's Solitaire. Highlights of an outstanding spring season for rarities include sightings of Mountain Bluebirds, a Townsend's Solitaire and five Cinnamon Teal reports in March. Other interesting observations of note were April sightings of a Ruff, a Fish Crow, Chestnut-collared Longspurs, and an unusually large number of White Faced Ibis. A sighting of Lazuli Buntings as well as a second state record of two Glossy Ibis were reported in May and a MacGillivray's Warbler was spotted in June.
