Letter from Walter Rosene to the United States Bureau of Biological Survey regarding a 1925 bird migration report, January 18, 1926. Rosene mentions this is the largest single year's list that he has ever completed, which involved 74 recorded field trips and observations of 153 varieties of birds from the station in Ogden. He also includes a list of birds formerly observed but not seen in 1925 as well as a list of 16 varieties of birds observed for the first time during the year.

Iowa Ornithologists' Union, Quarterly field report, spring 1984 was compiled by Thomas H. Kent and Carl J. Bendorf, and published in Iowa bird life, 54, 1984. The best new bird seen in the state was Barrow's Goldeneye, first sighted at Forneys Lake. Other notable accidental bird species seen were a Red-throated Loon at Cedar Lake, a Eurasian Wigeon at Sweet Marsh, and a Rock Wren in Woodbury County. The last two pages explain the process for preparing the report and plans for others to take over in the future.

Species seen near Keokuk and marked with a red check mark were a Bald Eagle, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Northern Oriole, Nighthawks, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Ring-billed Gull and Evening Grosbeaks. Also check-marked were Chimney Swifts seen at Ottumwa and a Broad-Winged Hawk near Montrose.
