The documentation form by Bill Huser is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. Another observer was Shawn Pfautsch. | Elimination of similar species: Call note and appearance indicated a wren. White supercilliary eliminated House Wren and Winter Wren. Black cap eliminated those two plus Carolina and Bewick's Wren. The lack of crown streaking eliminated Sedge Wren. Habitat was a strong indicator of Marsh Wren and a detraction from all others except, perhaps, a Sedge Wren. | The original documentation form event occurred around 11:00:00.

It was an adult Kumlien's Iceland Gull because a Thayer's Gull has much more blackish coloration at the primary tips and more dark coloration at the primary tips than the Kumlien's which has grayish markings on the primary tips and less dark-colored markings at the primary tips overall. Also, a Kumlien's Iceland Gull shows the almost white wing tips like we saw with a little grayish markings on some primary tips. | The original documentation form event lasted from approximately 15:00:00/16:15:00.

|
The documentation by Peter Ernzen is the only one submitted and forms the basis of this record. | Elimination of similar species: [...] I initially thought that the bird was a Mourning Warbler - common at Moorehead Park at this time of the year in this type of habitat. [...] I observed a broken eye ring on both sides of the head of this bird. The broken eye ring could best be described as " two bold white crescents" - above and below the eye. The other feature which stuck in my mind was the relatively long looking - "longer looking than Mourning" - tail on this particular bird. At first I tried to dismiss this bird as a nontypical Mourning Warbler. I have seen on several occasions Mourning warblers with slight eye rings - making identification of fall Connecticut and irregular Mourning warblers somewhat difficult. For the next week I returned to the spot hoping for a glimpse of the bird. This proved useless. I had hoped to see this bird as my notes were rather sketchy and incomplete. Consisting primarily of "bird with 2 bold white crescents" around the eyes, and "appeared longer tailed than Mourning". Otherwise the bird looked very similar to a fall male mourning warlber [sic]. | The original documentation form event occurred in the afternoon and lasted around 10 seconds.

The documentation form by Jim Fuller forms the basis of this record. Other documentation forms by Thomas H. Kent, Chris Edwards, Robert Cecil, and Mark Proescholdt were submitted. Other observers include Fritz Brock, Karole Fuller, Jim Scheib, Beth Proescholdt, Chuck Fuller, Tom Stone, Tim Gedler, Ken Lowder, John Daniel, William Smith, Sue Spieker, Reid Allen, Pam Allen, Chris Caster, Eugene Armstrong, Eloise Armstrong, Francis Moore, and many unidentified observers. | Elimination of similar species: Differences from a Mourning Dove are lighter overall color, larger size, blunt tail, black neckline, in flight two-toned undertail and three-toned upperwing, as well as a very different cooing call. Ringed Turtle Dove is generally lighter, lacks the obvious white line above the black neckline, and in flight does not show the two-toned undertail nor three-toned upperwing. Call is a softer rolling coo. | The original documentation form event lasted from 10:10:00/11:30:00.
