Another observer was Jerry Toll. \| Elimination of similar species: The only other species similar in appearances the boat-tailed grackle. I was not close enough to observe eye color but the length of the tail in relation to body length rules out that species. Ringed Turtle Dove is generally lighter, lacks the obvious white line above the black neckline, and in flight does not show the two-toned undertail nor three-toned upperwing.
