Ring-billed is smaller with a dark ring on bill of adult. Although a few Herrings have somewhat bright pink legs, most are a dull pink. An Iceland adult should have a lighter mantle and upperwing, and less gray (not black) on the outer primary tips. | The original documentation form event lasted from 13:50:00/14:15:00.

Iowa RBA update for October 28, 1996. Highlights of the update include sightings of an adult Sabine's Gull and two adult male White-winged Scoters. Also of note were the observations of numerous shorebirds, including a Black-bellied Plover, a Baird's Sandpiper, and a Sanderling. Also included are handwritten notes for the next week's update with sightings of a Prairie Falcon, an immature Brown Pelican, and several species of Grebes.
