Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for October 22, 1990. Highlights of the notes include the continued presence of a California Gull, a Mute Swan, and a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. Also of note were the large numbers of migrant bluebirds and waterfowl spreading across the state. Other interesting observations were of a Carolina Wren, a flock of Red Crossbills, and 6 Sparrow species, including a Harris' Sparrow.

Iowa Birdline update for October 1, 1990. Highlights of the update include the sighting of a Yellow Rail and the continued presence of two Scissor-tailed Flycatchers. Also of note was the large number of passerine migrants entering the state, including Blue Jays, Brown Creepers, Brown Thrashers, Indigo Buntings, and Yellow-rumped Warblers. Other interesting observations included early Lapland Longspurs and Red-breasted Mergansers as well as a sighting of an estimated 2400 Chimney Swifts.

In addition to the waterfowl sightings, Blackbirds, Robins, and Killdeer all began appearing in greater numbers. Summary of the Iowa Birdline update for September 1-November 30, 2000. Highlights of the update include exceptional sightings of a Pygmy Nuthatch, a Swallow-tailed Kite, a juvenile Parasitic Jaeger, and a family of three Whopping Cranes. Also of note was the extensive number and variety of fall gull sightings that were seen throughout the state. A fall Hawk watch resulted in some interesting observations, including 38 Mississippi Kites as well as large numbers of Prairie Falcons, Northern Goshawks, and Golden Eagles.
