Iowa Ornithologists' Union, Quarterly field report, spring 1984 was compiled by Thomas H. Kent and Carl J. Bendorf, and published in Iowa bird life, 54, 1984. The best new bird seen in the state was Barrow's Goldeneye, first sighted at Forneys Lake. Other notable accidental bird species seen were a Red-throated Loon at Cedar Lake, a Eurasian Wigeon at Sweet Marsh, and a Rock Wren in Woodbury County. The last two pages explain the process for preparing the report and plans for others to take over in the future.
