Highlights of the update include the sighting of a Yellow Rail and the continued presence of a California Gull. Also of note was the occurrence of a strong cold front that sent most of the less hardy Warblers south of the state while ushering in a few winter birds. Other interesting observations included a late male Scarlet Tanager, the first Dark-eyed Junco of the fall, 100 American White Pelicans, 125 Great Blue Herons, and 1000 Double-crested Cormorants.
