Field notes and map from Michael C. Newlon covered bird sightings in the Iowa City area, winter 1974-1975. The map showed the locations of the Hawkeye Wildlife Area, the Coralville Reservoir and Dam, and Cone Marsh relative to Iowa City. Some sightings extended into March, and were also recorded on the Mississippi River between Davenport and the locks. These items were undated with years, but they were used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of winter 1974-1975.

Iowa Ornithologists' Union, Quarterly field report, winter 1974-1975, was a corrected galley with numerous annotations, edited and sent by Peter C. Petersen to Vernon M. Kleen for American birds. Major news was the first Iceland Gull seen in Iowa, at Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Grouped with this document was an undated Melba Wigg letter to Vernon M. Kleen regarding winter bird sightings around Council Bluffs, Iowa, and the associated field notes. Observations from March were included. The Council Bluffs sightings were not part of the Iowa Ornithologists' Union, Quarterly field report, winter 1974-1975.

Spring migration report for Marble Rock, Iowa was contributed by Pearl Knoop in a letter to Peter C. Petersen. Swainson and Gray-cheeked Thrushes and Indigo Buntings were numerous and the warbler migration was good. Sightings of a male Prothonotary Warbler, female Cerulean Warbler, Rufous-sided Towhee and Scarlet Tanager were included in the report.This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of winter, 1965.
