Kent and Carl J. Bendorf, and published in Iowa bird life, 54, 1984. The best new bird seen in the state was Barrow's Goldeneye, first sighted at Forneys Lake. Other notable accidental bird species seen were a Red-throated Loon at Cedar Lake, a Eurasian Wigeon at Sweet Marsh, and a Rock Wren in Woodbury County.
