Moore, summer 1984, with four other observers. Among 47 species observed, many Little Blue Herons and Cattle Egrets were seen at Folsom Lake, with the first nesting evidence for Iowa. A Chestnut-sided Warbler was found singing in Grundy County and documented, a Black-necked Stilt was documented at Union Slough NWR, and a Great-tailed Grackle was documented at the IPL Cooling Ponds. Cuculidae were not very common, but Yellow-throated Vireos were in high numbers for southwest Iowa.
