Iowa Birdline update for September 24, 1990. Highlights of the update include the sighting of a Yellow Rail and the continued presence of a California Gull. Also of note was the occurrence of a strong cold front that sent most of the less hardy Warblers south of the state while ushering in a few winter birds. Other interesting observations included a late male Scarlet Tanager, the first Dark-eyed Junco of the fall, 100 American White Pelicans, 125 Great Blue Herons, and 1000 Double-crested Cormorants.

Iowa Birdline update for September 3, 1990. Highlights of the update include sightings of a Parasitic Jaeger and Red Knots. Other sightings of note were of Snowy Egrets, Barn Owls, Little Blue Herons, adult and immature Common Moorhens, and 100's of Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets. Also reported were numerous species of shorebirds, waterfowl, Plovers, and Warblers.
