Iowa Birdline update for October 8, 1990. Highlights of the update include the continued presence of a California Gull, a Yellow Rail, and a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. Also of note were sightings of a very late Black Tern, a female Black-throated Blue Warbler, and numerous shorebirds and waterfowl. Also included is an update on the sighting of two rare birds, a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper and a Mew Gull.

Also of interest were reports of an exotic Eurasian Goldfinch and an unconfirmed report of Harlequin Ducks. Also included are handwritten notes for the next week's update with sightings of a Northern Shrike and an immature Mute Swan.
