Also of note was the extensive number and variety of fall gull sightings that were seen throughout the state. A fall Hawk watch resulted in some interesting observations, including 38 Mississippi Kites as well as large numbers of Prairie Falcons, Northern Goshawks, and Golden Eagles. Highlights of the update include a sighting of a large flock of Lark Buntings in September and a continued presence of Eurasian Collared Doves throughout the fall. Other interesting observations of note were a Pacific Loon sighting in October, several unusual gull reports in October and November, and a late Ruby-throated Hummingbird spotted at a feeder in November.
