Dinsmore regarding weather, abundant water-living birds, and March kills of birds, August 2, 1984. Nestings of Least Terns and Piping Plovers at the IPL ponds were described in detail with seven other observers, and many herons were seen near the Missouri River in Fremont County. Counts of House Sparrows were shown to decrease as livestock operations decreased, 1978-1984. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984.

Edgar Folk letter to Hollis regarding sightings of a Western Rufus-sided Towhee (Spotted Towhee) near Oxford, Iowa, January 27, 1984. Also included in this volume are newspaper clippings, a few hand-drawn illustrations, correspondence, and the program for the 50th Annual Convention of the Iowa Ornithologists' Union where Leopold gave a presentation titled "Nesting Habits of the Wood Duck".
