Field notes were contributed by Barbara L. Wilson, summer 1984. Included was a cover letter to James J. Dinsmore regarding weather, abundant water-living birds, and March kills of birds, August 2, 1984. Nestings of Least Terns and Piping Plovers at the IPL ponds were described in detail with seven other observers, and many herons were seen near the Missouri River in Fremont County. Counts of House Sparrows were shown to decrease as livestock operations decreased, 1978-1984. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984.
