Iowa Birdline update for October 1, 1990. Highlights of the update include the sighting of a Yellow Rail and the continued presence of two Scissor-tailed Flycatchers. Also of note was the large number of passerine migrants entering the state, including Blue Jays, Brown Creepers, Brown Thrashers, Indigo Buntings, and Yellow-rumped Warblers. Other interesting observations included early Lapland Longspurs and Red-breasted Mergansers as well as a sighting of an estimated 2400 Chimney Swifts.

Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for October 2, 1988. Highlights of the update include sightings of seabirds that have rarely been seen in Iowa, including a Magnificent Frigatebird, a Parasitic Jaeger, two Pomarine Jaegers, and a Red Phalarope.
