In her undated cover letter to Thomas H. Kent, Bray mentions seeing a Moorhen almost every time at Forneys Lake, and also covers Nebraska experiences. These items were used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of spring 1984.

Field notes were contributed by Robert K. Myers, summer 1984, with two other observers. Of eighteen species observed, many Cattle Egrets were seen near Glenwood, and many shorebirds at Sweet Marsh. A singing Clay-colored Sparrow was observed in detail at Volga River R.A., and Kentucky Warbler was also found singing there. A Chuck-will's-widow was heard calling near Waubonsie. A Northern Mockingbird was nesting near Sidney. This item was used as supporting documentation for the Iowa Ornithologists’ Union Quarterly field report of summer 1984.
