Highlights of the newsletter include details on recent field trips including a Hawk Watch in which six species of hawks were observed, an update on acid rain monitoring by society members, and a report by Stephen J. Dinsmore of a birding Big Day in central Iowa in which 135 species of birds were observed in fifteen hours over a 145 mile route.
