The highlights for the update include sightings of an abundance of Cedar Waxwings and lingering American Robins, and the season's first reports of a Common Redpoll and Snow Bunting. Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for November 14, 1988. Highlights of the update include several excellent sightings from around the state, including a Pine Grosbeak, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, Greater Scaup, two Golden Eagles, and as many as 1000 Tundra Swans. Also of note was the continued presence of a Rock Wren as well as the first Snowy Owl sighting of the season.

Highlights of the update include sightings of Pacific Loon, a first winter Black-legged Kittiwake, a Surf Scoter, a first winter Thayer's Gull, and an immature Golden Eagle. Other observations of note were of a very late Scarlet Tanager, 2 Carolina Wrens, 2 Rough-legged Hawks, and 5 Bald Eagles.

Summary for the Iowa Birdline update for May 21, 1990. Highlights of the update include the continued presence of a Prairie Warbler and a Henslow's Sparrow. Also of note were sightings of 48 Red-necked Phalaropes, numerous reports of Cattle Egrets, and a brief appearance of a Black-headed Grosbeak. In addition, several species of shorebirds and Ducks were also observed.
