A Varied Thrush was documented in Wellman along with Barbara Henderson, and also seen in Perry, Spencer, and Ames. Included was a G. Edgar Folk letter to Hollis regarding sightings of a Western Rufus-sided Towhee (Spotted Towhee) near Oxford, Iowa, January 27, 1984. Counts of House Sparrows were shown to decrease as livestock operations decreased, 1978-1984.
