He reported that Margaret M. Anderson had told him that the Iowa Bald Eagle nest at "Dead Haines" (in Allamakee County) had fledged two young. Fourteen Bald Eagles were seen near Lansing and New Albin in the spring, along with nine other bird species, but status of their nests was uncertain. Among eight species observed in the summer, Winter Wrens were heard singing and Orchard Orioles were seen at Wantea Point. Edgar Folk letter to Hollis regarding sightings of a Western Rufus-sided Towhee (Spotted Towhee) near Oxford, Iowa, January 27, 1984.
