Notes for the Iowa Birdline update for April 2, 1990. Highlights of the update include the appearance of several migrants including Field Sparrow, Turkey Vultures, Tree Swallow, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and Common Loons. Also of note was the continued presence of Smith's Longspurs and numerous reports of Ducks, Geese, and Swans.

Highlights of the update include sightings of thousands of American White Pelicans in the state on about every body of water and Barn Owls nesting at the same location in Taylor County for the fourth consecutive year. Also included are handwritten notes for the next week's update with sightings of a Little Blue Heron near Burlington that has been at the same pond for three straight days and 12 Red-breasted Mergansers at Cedar Lake in Cedar Rapids.
